Who's Behind The Camera?
Erica is a professional photographer and Co-Owner of Oolaa Designs Photography. Though she currently lives in Pittsburgh, PA, Erica grew up in rural Ohio throwing hay bales, chasing pigs, and dodging pissed off cows. While she was getting her hands dirty on the farm, she developed a strong work ethic and an appreciation for Mother Nature.
Erica’s passion is the art of making images and the challenge of incorporating technical, social and creative aspects of photography. While most of her time is spent on portrait photography, she is also pursuing documentary projects and collaborates with other artists to create fine art photography.
In addition to being a well-rounded artist and photographer, Erica has a diverse academic background and holds a MSE in Biomedical Engineering and MS in Rehabilitation Science and Technology. She has research experience in multiple fields including exercise science, ultrasound, prototyping and design, rehabilitation science and technology, and MR image processing and analysis. She rarely gets bored.

Robert, the other co-owner of Oolaa Designs, loves imagery. He went to college in Pittsburgh and learned to do computational things to medical images. He advanced his fascination with imagery to photography after getting his first DSLR camera (thanks mom and dad!).
There is little more magical to Robert than freezing time to invoke powerful memories or capture moments that elude the eye. As a naturally curious being, he is always experimenting with different photography techniques, especially those involving light manipulation. He leaves specialization for the bugs and enjoys all forms and types of photography.
Robert views every photo shoot as a new adventure to connect with another person on this blue rock. He feels fortunate to share the same passion with his wife-- mainly to prove that Canon is superior to Nikon. In addition to photography, Robert also holds a special place in his heart for gardening, grilling, and wiener dogs.
